Dosing admixtures in the batching plant
Every batch needs the same amount of admixture for the same amount of cement. A positive displacement gear pump delivers a fixed volume at every revolution, so the dose is set by the speed and the running time. Your control system starts the pump, counts and stops it.
The flow does not drop when the admixture is cold and thicker in winter. This keeps the dose repeatable from the first batch of the morning.
The series we normally propose: ZV and NAV
For dosing we normally propose the ZV series, which covers small flow rates from 0.47 to 102 l/min with threaded ports and direct flange mounting to the motor. For unloading tankers and filling storage tanks we propose the flanged NAV series.
Admixtures differ widely in chemistry, so the model and the materials must be confirmed by our technical office for your product. Bodies are available in cast iron or AISI 316 stainless steel.
Sticky, foaming and settling products
Some admixtures are syrupy and leave deposits when they dry. Others contain fine solids that settle in the tank, or foam when air gets in. A self-priming gear pump draws the liquid from the top of the tank or from an IBC and moves it without churning. Running at low speed helps with the thicker grades.
From admixture producers to road and building sites
Admixture manufacturers use the same pumps for blending and for filling drums and tankers. Companies that work with concrete often handle other construction fluids too: see our pages on bitumen emulsion pumps and on silicone pumps for sealants.
Send us the admixture, the dose per batch and the layout of the plant. The technical office in Bologna, Italy, recommends the model, the speed and the drive.
