What a cosmetic cream asks of a pump
Creams are thick and do not flow out of the mixer by themselves. If they are stirred too hard, the emulsion can lose its structure. A gear pump running at low speed pushes the cream with a steady flow and without pulsation, from the turbo-emulsifier to the storage vessel and on to the filling machine.
The pumps are self-priming, so they draw the product from the bottom outlet of the mixer or from a drum.
The series we normally propose: FX in stainless steel
For cosmetic creams we normally propose the FX series. It is made entirely of stainless steel machined from solid and is intended for the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The model must be confirmed by our technical office for your product.
The same series is used for high viscosity food creams, which behave in a similar way.
Cleaning between one batch and the next
Cosmetic production changes product often. The FX pump can be completely dismantled in a few minutes for internal cleaning and is prepared for C.I.P. washing. You can inspect the gears and the chamber before the next batch.
A heating or cooling jacket is available. It keeps a cream or a wax-based balm at the temperature at which it flows well.
Filling lines and dosing by speed
The flow of a gear pump is proportional to its speed. On a filling line you regulate the quantity by regulating the motor. For the thickest creams we supply a geared motor unit that turns the pump slowly.
Many producers run creams next to other products. See also our pages on liquid soap and shampoo pumps and toothpaste pumps. Send us the product, the flow rate and the temperature. Our technical office in Bologna recommends the model and the drive.
