Why a gear pump suits edible oils
Oil lubricates the gears as it passes, which is the ideal working condition for a gear pump. The pump is positive displacement, so each revolution delivers the same volume and the flow rate does not drift when the oil thickens in a cold store.
It is also self-priming and can draw from drums, containers and tanks set below the pump. Our technical office checks the suction layout with you.
ZV series: dosing pumps for edible oils
Edible oils are among the fluids listed for the ZV series. It is a compact pump with threaded ports that flanges directly to the motor, built for small flow rates from 0.47 to 102 l/min. Use it to meter oil into doughs, sauces and preserves or to feed a filling machine. Flow follows speed, so you adjust the dose from the drive.
FX and NAV series: stainless steel and bulk oil transfer
Where the pump must be opened and washed, we normally propose the FX series, machined entirely from solid stainless steel, quick to dismantle and prepared for C.I.P. washing.
For tanker unloading and transfer between storage tanks we normally propose the flanged NAV series, with theoretical flow rates up to 2770 l/min. The model is confirmed by our technical office for your oil and your duty.
Fats that solidify: palm oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter
Some fats are solid at room temperature and must be kept warm from tank to point of use. A pump with a heating jacket holds them liquid during a stop. The jacket is available on the FX series, and the approach is the one we use for chocolate.
Tell our technical office in Bologna which oil or fat you handle, at what temperature and at what flow rate. Write on WhatsApp or use the quote form. For other ingredients see pumps for the food industry.
