Why a gear pump suits resins
A resin can be thin when warm and very thick when the workshop is cold. A gear pump moves the same volume at every revolution, so the flow rate depends on displacement and speed and stays put when viscosity rises. The thicker the resin, the lower the speed we select.
All our pumps are self-priming and draw the product from drums, tanks and storage vessels without filling the suction line by hand.
Transfer with the NAV series, metering with the ZV series
For unloading and transfer we recommend the flanged NAV series, which covers flow rates from 54 to 2770 l/min and lists resins, isocyanates and solvents among its fluids. For two-component lines and small batches the ZV series starts at 0.47 l/min and handles resins, glues, isocyanate and polyol.
Because flow is proportional to speed, you set the ratio between two components by adjusting the speed of each pump.
Hot-melt and resins that set at room temperature
Hot-melt and many solid resins must stay hot to flow. The CR series has a heating jacket that completely surrounds the pumping chamber, so the product remains liquid inside the pump and the gears turn freely after a stop. The same series works with bitumen and waxes.
Isocyanates, solvents and choice of materials
Isocyanate reacts with moisture in the air, so the installation must keep it away from humidity. Solvents are thin and often flammable: ATEX documentation is available on request. Bodies come in cast iron or AISI 316 stainless steel.
Tell us the product, the temperature and the flow rate you need. Our technical office in Bologna defines the model, the speed and the construction. If you also handle coatings, see our page on paint and pigment pumps.
